I have always been an active child growing up in Hawaii, but dancing (ballet and jazz) and playing piano had been the center of everything.....before I moved into sports and fitness. To my ballet teacher's dismay, I opted to play team sports and do track and field, and gave up the tights, leotards, barre and performances. But it was that dance background that laid the foundation for the physical activities in my life, including teaching Group Fitness/Aerobics in college, learning Tae Kwon Do, and weightlifting/training all through my 20s, 30s, and now 40s.

Music and dance is my heart/center. It allows me to express what sometimes words and writing cannot. It allows me to create when things around me are chaotic or falling apart. It allows me to be free and have fun when I just need to let it all go. Dance like no one is watching? Yup, I do it all the time, and I don't care who IS watching! :)
