DJ Andie Cassette
Throughout her transient life, music has always been of great importance to DJ Andie Cassette. At a young age she was sitting behind a drum set and at a piano bench teaching her little fingers to create music. As she grew, her hobby of music turned into a passion.
She began researching music and finding undiscovered artists and bands, unfamiliar to mainstream society. Becoming extremely interested in ambient, electronica and idm, she socialized with musicians and played in a couple bands as a drummer and guitarist. After finishing her education at Boston University in Film Production, DJ Andie Cassette lived in New York City and Sydney, where she became artistically inspired by the nightlife, creative residents and energy.
She ventured to Los Angeles where she discovered her true talent in DJing. She began bartending throughout Los Angeles and familiarized herself with different nightlife scenes and promoters while watching DJs and musical performers on a nightly basis. Applying her tremendous social skills, DJ Andie Cassette easily made the obscure transition from bartender to DJ.
She quickly gained residencies at Hollywood hot-spots and her career took off throughout the hot 2008 summer. Over the past year, Cassette and her DJ partner Count RockuLA have played gigs multiple times a week throughout Los Angeles and toured all over the US to New York, San Francisco, Austin (SXSW), San Diego, New Orleans, Kansas City, Chicago, Columbus, New Jersey, Boston, Toronto, Salt Lake City and Puerto Rico. Their international tours included DJing in Sydney Australia in December/January [08/09], Munich and Hamburg, Germany and Paris, France (Summer 09).
She and her beau will next be heading to Tokyo, Japan in December of 2010 to play at Le Baron De Paris, New Lex and Solfa. Cassette has quickly set her place in major party cities throughout the US as a fashion-forward, dance-friend.
